"One Belt, One Road" Intiative

   “One Belt, One Road” (Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road) is a road of win-win cooperation that promotes common development and realizes common prosperity as well as a road of peace and friendship that enhances understanding and trust and promotes comprehensive understanding.

  At the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit held in its New York headquarters in September 2015, President Xi Jinping undertook that China would support the launch of 100 maternal and child health projects in developing countries, dispatch medical and expert teams for medical services, and lend support to 100 hospitals and clinics over the next five years.

  As guided by the overall state strategy and the need of recipient countries, the Ministry of Commerce of China would increase efforts in supporting key recipient countries along and around the “One Belt, One Road”. On October 14, 2015, the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China issued the “Three-year Implementation Plan for the Promotion of Health Exchange and Cooperation along the ‘One Belt, One Road’ (2015-2017)”

Countries and regions to be visited from 2016 and onward will include Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, and more.
