On June 19th local time at Budapest, Hungary, the third China-CEEC Health Ministerial Forum was held at Budapest with the theme of promoting public health. More than 5000 representatives from China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries attended this forum. Vice Premier of the State Council Liu Yandong, Vice Prime Minister Semjen, Assistant Director-general of WHO Chai Slove and others attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Party Secretary Yao Xu and Vice President Zhu Lihui of Hunan Children’s Hospital also attended this forum at invitation.
Vice Premier Liu Yandong said at her speech that as the 16+1 health cooperation scheme became mature, multilateral communication and cooperation had been enhanced and gained fruitful results. She hoped China and Central and Eastern European countries would continue to strengthen policy coordination and take full advantage of the leading role of mechanisms like the Health Ministerial Forum. She was looking forward to enhancing joint talents training, promoting cooperation on health research so as to create a new chapter for the health cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Countries.
It was also the first time Chinese-English bilingual official website of China-CEEC Hospital Cooperation Alliance had been used officially at this forum and three network mechanisms such as China-CEEC national level public health cooperation network had been established. This forum included four parallel forums including public health cooperation, hospital cooperation, researches on health policies and the traditional Chinese medicine. Over ten experts and scholars from China and Central and Eastern European countries delivered a speech, sharing the most cutting-edge techniques and achievements in various fields.
After the opening ceremony, Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with unit heads of China-CEEC Hospital Cooperation Alliance. She warmly shook hands with Madam Yao Xu, Party Secretary of Hunan Children’s Hospital, and highly praised our efforts in the international cooperation and communication over the past years. She hoped we would continue to create highlights through this forum, deepen our pragmatic cooperation in the field of pediatric health, make breakthroughs together in the ability of dealing with public health emergencies and advanced medical techniques, enhance the promotion of the traditional medicine and encourage mutual study between pediatric professionals so as to benefit children in China and Central and Eastern European Countries.
During the forum, our hospital’s delegation visited Hetenyi Geza General Hospital in Hungary at the invitation of President Jos and received warm welcome. During the visit, Vice President Zhu Lihui introduced the development history of our hospital, the advantages of discipline development and the progress we made in the international cooperation and communication. President Jos expressed great interest in the international communication work and foreign-aid training. He was looking forward to establishing friendly cooperative relationship with our hospital.
