The 8th Xiaoxiang International Symposium on Pediatrics & the 1st Children’s Organ Transplant Forum

On May 27, 2022, the 8th Xiaoxiang International Symposium on Pediatrics & the 1st Children’s Organ Transplant Forum was held in Changsha. At the Forum, Hunan Children’s Hospital and the Spanish Organ Donation & Transplantation Foundation signed the memorandum of understanding for future cooperation.

The 8thXiaoxiang International Symposium on Pediatrics coincided with the 35thanniversary of Hunan Children’s Hospital. It focused on hot issues of pediatric development from a global perspective and built an international platform for pediatric academic exchange.

Hunan Children’s Hospital signed memorandum of understanding with the Spanish Organ Donation & Transplantation Foundation.

Hunan Children’s Hospital has been approved as the only children’s hospital that has obtained dual qualifications for liver and kidney transplantation. After establishing the Chen Zhaolong academician workstation, the Hospital has seen rapid improvement in pediatric transplantation. So far, the Hospital has completed 41 cases of liver transplant and 2 cases of kidney transplant in the past 5 years.

This 1stChildren’s Organ Transplant Forum focused on the new trends and progress in children’s organ transplantation from a global perspective. At home, the Hospital will rely on the academician workstation to build a center for children’s liver and kidney transplantation in the central and southern regions. While abroad, by partnering with the Spanish DTI Foundation, the Hospital will expand the cooperation in children’s organ transplantation to enhance the international influence, and forge new cooperation outcomes.
